While at the Fieldays last year I was amazed, not only at the massive effort participants put into preparing their sites, but also at the fact that a huge proportion of the exhibitors didn’t display (let alone promote) their websites!

Your website address should be up there on the importance scale with your phone number and location.

Having a website doesn’t mean people are going to use it. A successful website is one that is promoted in real life as well as online. To generate traffic to your site people need to know about it. Your web address should be displayed on all of your marketing material – signage, brochures, business cards, letterheads, quotes, tradeshow material, vehicle sign writing and advertisements.

A web address is usually more memorable than a phone number and something people can take away and browse at in their own time from their own home.

You never know; someone that may not have had the motivation to call but instead browsed at your website, only to find exactly what they were looking for, could easily become a valued customer. But, would they have gone out there in search of finding you? Probably not.

Make information about your business easily accessible. Make contacting yourself easy and give people options over the medium - offer them a phone number, email address, website and a fax number.
